CI Ventures supports the journey from research IP to credible startup with the institution that produced the work. We work with founders early, structure their commercialization path, and produce the evidence your commercialization office can show to faculty, leadership, and funders.
Most accelerators treat spinouts like consumer startups. We don't. Our program is structured around the longer technical timelines, IP considerations, and founder-fit questions that science-based commercialization actually requires. Cohorts run in objectives-focused cycles, with mentors selected for fit with the startup's stage.
Every startup in our program contributes to a cumulative dataset on early-stage startups, from intake to outcome. The result is case studies you can attribute, outcome reporting you can include in your own commercialization metrics, and research-grade findings on what works in spinout development. Your office isn't the source, it's the partner.
We don't take rights in your institution's IP. Our program supports the founder; your tech transfer office keeps its relationship with the startup intact, on its own terms. Investor partners may invest at the startup level - that's a separate conversation between the founders and investors, not a condition of program participation.
If your institution is exploring how research IP becomes startups, we'd like to talk. A few sentences is plenty.
